- thegamingguy, on 11/19/2008, -2/+13What about the other Bulls 3-peat? The Celtics 9-peat overlooked discredits the list entirely.
- ScottMitchell, on 11/19/2008, -0/+11I agree - in their second three-peat the Bulls were much more dominant than in their first run. The first one was more fun as a fan, though - more drama, more excitement, and the novelty of winning. The second run had its dramatic moments only in the final year, and by then the taste of victory was nothing new.
And, btw, the Celtics won 8 championships in a row, not 9.

- mrcoldcow, on 11/19/2008, -3/+7Two car racers, but no Lakers from '00-'02?
And as mentioned above, no Celtics 9-peat?
meh - reddevild, on 11/19/2008, -1/+5So they have Navratilova and Rafa but what about Bjorn Borg? 5 straight Wimbledon's and 4 Straight French Opens, winning both from '78-80
- Aeyar, on 11/19/2008, -1/+5Lance is great, but an individual being amazing is less awesome than a team consistently dominating imo. (Phelps is another good example, and why wasn't he on here?)
- ngb5012, on 11/19/2008, -0/+2he has only got medals in two olympics. hence the three-peats.
- Aeyar, on 11/19/2008, -0/+1Really? I would do it by medal, in which case he's sure got more than 3. And, these aren't all 3-peats anyway...
Oh well, still an interesting article.

- TheBaronRides, on 11/19/2008, -2/+6The Packers won three straight titles twice, in '29-31 and '65-67 (which includes the ice bowl) I guess some of that is before the merger but come on, two race car drivers??
- partysan, on 11/19/2008, -3/+10Real Madrid won the European Cup five years in a row, which is a far greater accomplishment than some nascar best-in-left-turn competition threepeat.
- Medicamusic, on 11/19/2008, -1/+4The Lakers actually copyrighted "Three-Peat". We won a title for my high school water polo team for the third year in a row and wanted that on our rings... the ring company wouldnt do it.
- ngb5012, on 11/19/2008, -3/+1this is like comparing apples and steak. Yes they are both food, but not remotely close. You can't compare biking/NASCAR vs. the big sports. considering the competition. How many people wake up and say, "Hey, I'm going to be the best bike rider in all the land." or "I'm going to be faster than Jeff Gordon". As opposed to the millions of kids that go to bed dreaming of becoming the next Michael Jordan or Brett Farve.
- phauna, on 11/19/2008, -0/+1Well, hardly anyone is going to want to be an American football player, are they? More people cycle than play American Football.
- phoobahr, on 11/19/2008, -0/+1Or swim for that matter. And I note that the list doesn't include either Dawn Fraser nor Krisztina Egerszegi the only two swimmers who have ever complete an Olympic 3peat in the pool, for any event. Ever.
Or how about running, the only sport we (as a species) are born to do. Hicham El Guerrouj won 4 consecutive world titles in the mile. Or Emil Zátopek the only athlete to win all 3 distance events in one Olympics (5km, 10km & marathon in 1952)

- andysrc, on 11/19/2008, -0/+0I kind of agree with you, but not because of your logic. Sure, more people might grow up dreaming of winning the Super Bowl than the Tour de France (maybe). But that's not what we're comparing. What you should be comparing is the number of riders in the Tour against the number of teams in the NFL (not number of players in the NFL). There are far more riders than there are teams. So by that line of thinking, you're wrong.
Where I agree with you is that it might be much harder to three-peat as a team because you always have players coming in and out and contracts expiring (and an injury to any one of your four or five best players might doom your season), whereas Lance Armstrong is still Lance Armstrong every year.- momomathew, on 11/19/2008, -0/+1You do realize there are teams of riders in the Tour don't you?
- phauna, on 11/19/2008, -0/+1Well, hardly anyone is going to want to be an American football player, are they? More people cycle than play American Football.
- phauna, on 11/19/2008, -0/+5Three-peat is not really a word. And this of course is massively skewed towards America, although apparently featuring the 'The Greatest Teams and Individual Accomplishments of All-Time'.
- 9bpm9, on 11/19/2008, -1/+2What about the Celtics? And the Yankees of old?
The only really agreeable one on this list has to be the Bruins. - NuttyVirus, on 11/19/2008, -1/+1Three-peats huh? To bad some of those were more like 6 and 7 peats. And wtf no lakers/celtics? even though im not a lakers fan. Come on now....
- NoozeHound, on 11/19/2008, -1/+2Buried for being *****.
- mreade, on 11/19/2008, -1/+1If you're going to ignore the whole three-peat thing by adding 4 or more titles, how about adding Kelly Slater's 7 world titles in there?
- partrow, on 11/19/2008, -0/+2Buried for "three-peat" coined word.
- wonko33, on 11/19/2008, -0/+2Montreal Canadiens maybe?
79 - 78 - 77 -76
56-57-58-59-60
Only 24 Stanley cups
BTW - it's is their 100th season this year. - jschau2, on 11/19/2008, -0/+1Go Bulls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- gocats1, on 11/19/2008, -0/+1This list is a joke. The fact that the Celtics, Bulls (2nd 3-peat), or Lakers aren't mentioned is bull.
- YsoSerious57, on 11/19/2008, -0/+1This list is awful
